A Variety Braces Options to Suit Your Lifestyle
Traditional Metal Braces
Today, metal braces are more comfortable than ever. They are still considered the most popular style and are made of high-grade stainless steel. This system uses brackets and archwires to straighten teeth. Brackets are applied directly to your teeth and wires are threaded through to apply light continuous pressure and shift teeth into place slowly.
Today’s traditional dental braces are much less noticeable than they once were and advancements in technology mean that this style of braces shift teeth alignment quicker than they did in the past. With metal braces, you also have the opportunity to add coloured rubber bands to the brackets to make them more personal.
Self-Ligating Braces
Self-ligating also combines the use of brackets and wires to straighten teeth, however, do not require the use of rubber bands. This system uses doors and clips to hold onto the wire. This means fewer visits to the orthodontist and less discomfort in some cases as there is less pressure being applied to the teeth.

The length of treatment can vary depending on the patient. Typically, treatments can last anywhere from six to thirty months, however, the average length of standard treatment is roughly 22 months.
